Skip Cable Car Lines with Speed Boat Transfer
An alternative method to avoid the cable car queue involves a direct transfer from Fira port to Oia port via a small, high-speed boat operated by an agency at the port. You will see the big sign "Speed-boat to Oia" when you leave your tender.
This option entails a 20-minute transfer directly to Oia. Upon arrival at Oia port, you will be met by a transfer service that will take you to the bus stop 100 meters from the designated meeting place.
Following the photo shoot, the transfer will return you to the port of Oia for your journey back to Fira port. At Fira port, you will use the cable car for the descent, which costs 6 euros.
This method, which bypasses the cable car queue, was utilized by previous tourists during peak seasons to avoid long wait times. The total cost for this transfer, including round-trip transportation, is 30 euros per person. Cable car tickets are not included. First speed boat 10 am.

Plan Ahead to Minimize Wait Times
Upon disembarking from your cruise ship, anticipate a wait time. There is typically a queue for the cable car ascent to Fira town. Aim to position yourself early in line to minimize wait times.
Please note that wait times can vary; however, previous clients have experienced approximately an hour's wait before disembarking and queuing for the cable car. Once at the top of Fira town, a short 200-meter walk will lead you to the designated meeting point with your driver.
The driver will then transfer you to Oia, a journey lasting approximately 20-25 minutes. Upon arrival in Oia, a photographer and assistant will be ready to commence your photoshoot. The total transfer cost for two persons, including round-trip transportation, is 75 euros. Cable car tickets are not included.
